The Aflatoxin Group comprises highly toxic compounds produced by fungi, particularly Aspergillus species. They contaminate various foods, posing severe health risks. Exposure occurs through consuming contaminated food and feed can is linked to liver damage and increased cancer risk.
The Trichothecene Group consists of toxic compounds produced by fungi like Fusarium and Stachybotrys, often contaminating grains and other crops. These toxins may pose health risks including immune suppression and gastrointestinal issues.
Gliotoxin derivative is a toxin produced by moulds, particularly fungi like Aspergillus and Penicillium. Gliotoxin and its derivatives are known for their immunosuppressive and cytotoxic properties.
Zearalenone is a mycotoxin found in crops like maize, wheat, and barley, produced by fungi like Fusarium. It mimics oestrogen and is linked to reproductive issues in animals.
